Step 4 — Dice the Vegetables

Finely chop:

  • Red pepper

  • Garlic

  • Scallions

Freshly minced garlic gives the best aroma.

Step 5 — Mix the Sauce Base (No Chili Oil Yet)

In a bowl, combine:

  • 4 tbsp water

  • 6 tbsp vinegar

  • 4 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • Black pepper (2 pinches)

  • All chopped vegetables

Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
You now have a bright, tangy, aromatic sauce.

Assemble the Dish

Step 6 — Check the Cabbage

Your steamed baby napa cabbage should now be soft and fully cooked.

Cut off the core if needed and slice each into serving-sized pieces.

Step 7 — Plate the Cabbage

Arrange the warm cabbage neatly on a plate.

Step 8 — Add the Sauce

Spoon the tangy pepper sauce generously over the cabbage.
